1972:

Gustavo Monroy Leyva buys the farm Hacienda La Alsacia, and gives it the name of San Alberto, in honor of his son Gustavo Alberto, who died in a plane crash.

1976:

The success and long-term vision, motivated Mr. Gustavo to buy the house next to the Hacienda to make it the main house.

1985:

On the way to the Hacienda San Alberto in Armenia Mr. Gustavo died, leaving Mrs. Melba, his wife, responsible for the administration of the farm.

1990:

In order to increase its production, the Hacienda San Alberto joined to their land the neighboring farm, La Ponderosa, which includes the land with the greatest height in the property: between 1700 and 1800 meters above sea level.

1994:

Mrs. Melba retires herself and decides to give to her three children what corresponds to their shared patrimony from the Hacienda.

1996:

The siblings decide to dissolve the society, and the eldest one, Mrs. Olga Cecilia, along with her husband, Mr. Eduardo, buy all the Hacienda and its grounds. The transformation and the reengineering of property, equipment and processes, began.

1997:

The family Villota Leyva reopened the main house of the Hacienda after a renovation that retains its original structure, but was adapted to the new needs.

2005:

On this year takes place the culmination of a significant transformation process of the farm led by Eduardo Villota.

2006:

After ten years of working with a business vision committed to the environment, the quality of their products, and a high sense of social responsibility, the Hacienda San Alberto obtained the UTZ certification. On this same year the neighboring farm El Paraiso is added to the property.

2007:

The third generation, the children of the family Villota Leyva, establishes the Group Kallpasapa and launches Café San Alberto with the clear objective of making it a new standard of taste and exclusivity.

2009:

Faithful to the dream of educating on coffee consumption, the doors of the Hacienda were opened for those wishing to visit, and the Terraza San Alberto was inaugurated; a privileged place to enjoy a good cup of coffee.

2010 - Future:

The Hacienda San Alberto will continue working on improving their processes and the quality of their products, to continue competing in the international market. Café San Alberto will deal primarily with the labor of becoming a leader in popularizing the Colombian coffee culture with its program called Coffee Baptism, and on being an icon of exclusivity and quality.
